What Benwood Foundation Does: A pillar of philanthropic vision in Chattanooga, Benwood Foundation is a thought leader and patron at the center of numerous city improvement efforts. Though its grants and endowments, Benwood seeks to stimulate creative and innovative efforts to build and strengthen the Chattanooga community.
Included in these efforts are the Benwood Initiative, a multi-year commitment to improving public education in low-performing schools, the George T. Hunter Lecture Series, which brings nationally respected speakers to the city; and a Food System Ideas Competition to investigate how to increase the capacity of local food growers and producers. How Papercut Helps: Benwood looks to Papercut for innovative digital ideas to communicate and support its focus areas. Projects include logo creation, website design and creation, paperless strategies, custom software development, e-mail marketing, and ongoing new media support.
Results:
- Exceptional attendance at lecture series events. E-mail marketing is a key tool for promoting the George T. Hunter Lecture Series. Lectures are so well attended that the series has been moved to a larger venue than originally planned.
- Reduced paper usage by foundation staff and trustees—thousands fewer pages each year by using a digital board meeting preparation tool conceived and built by Papercut.
