Get to Know Papercut’s Newest Team MemberJust for Fun
Papercut has added another new employee! This time, we’ve expanded the design side of our team with the addition of Sarah Luscombe, a designer and front end developer. Sarah’s busy working with Ashley to create beautiful, functional designs for our clients’ websites.
Although she was born in Cleveland, Ohio and most of her family lives there or in Chicago (yes, she has a special place in her heart for Yankees), Sarah considers Memphis her hometown. Her family moved there when she was six months old, and it’s where she grew up. After graduating high school, she moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee, where she earned her BFA in Graphic Design.
Before joining Papercut, Sarah worked as a graphic design intern at the Happy Envelope and the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture. She also spent time as the communications intern at the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis and a graphic design intern at Paradigm Marketing & Creative in Memphis.
On a typical day at Papercut, Sarah can be found collaborating with Ashley on wireframes, flat designs, color and type, or code. She says, “I love that Papercut is small, so I can learn and take part in almost all stages of the web development process.” She also dedicates some time to tending to her sea monkeys. That's right, one of her first assignments at Papercut was to successfully hatch the office “pets.”
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys exploring her new hometown of Chattanooga and taking advantage of all the outdoor activities the city has to offer. She also likes to take some time away from the computer to do yoga, run, try out new recipes, paint/draw, and even dabble on the piano.
Sarah’s glad to be here, and we’re happy to have her on the team. “My fine art background led me into design, and my curiosity led me to web development. I love making pretty things with a practical application that create experiences online,” she says. We love her enthusiasm, and we can’t wait to see her work on our upcoming projects.
