Independent schools share a common challenge – how to communicate with numerous audiences in an organized, accessible way. Papercut Interactive worked with CCS to focus their vision and allocate resources for new families, donors, current families, and alumni.
CCSk12.org is a marketing website. It provides families with a glimpse into the life of the school and answers the questions that parents and potential students ask. The content-rich site allows visitors to get a quick overview of the school’s distinctives – and offers in-depth descriptions of the CCS educational philosophy, curriculum, and statement of faith. Daily information for current families is separate from the public website through a simple app interface.
Bringing a Brand Refresh to Life
Chattanooga Christian School came to this website rebuild with a new visual brand. Papercut Interactive expanded on the new logo and color palette with font explorations and cascading style sheet patterns to create a vibrant new look for the school. Carefully designed page templates make it easy for school staff to maintain the site’s design, even years after go live.
Papercut also assisted with Chattanooga Christian School’s brand messaging. Our editors brought out the best in the written content provided by school administrators – making the big ideas of education philosophy accessible to a wide audience.
Friendly faces make a big difference to school visitors – whether on a campus tour or on the website. Papercut created a visually impactful faculty and staff directory for CCS so their people can shine.
We also thought about how CCS staff would manage the directory, because keeping track of current photos and bios for so many people could become a time consuming responsibility. Our backend team created a user-friendly interface within Chattanooga Christian's ExpressionEngine content management system to make adding and editing directory listings a breeze.
Many Pages, Minimal Clicks
The modern, mobile-friendly design of the Chattanooga Christian site presented an interesting challenge: How to quickly access numerous pages in as few clicks as possible on devices of all sizes?
Extensive planning of the site map and information architecture prepared our team to explore superfriendly options for the menu user interface. A combination of a menu “hamburger” and an innovative right slide-in tap navigation make it simple to find the content a user needs. Callout areas on the homepage, lateral linking, and a keyword search compete the strategy and give site visitors many ways to navigate the site.
Papercut promotes school events through paid Facebook advertising. A strategic approach to growing the school’s social media audiences mean that CCS ads get more reach for less money.

CCS pushes its website to reach its potential. Papercut has implemented conversion optimization strategies to drive and measure engagement with admissions applications, development, and athletics. Monthly search engine optimization allows Chattanooga Christian to maintain its search engine ranking for important keywords, and social media advertising and has increased participation in public activities as well as grown the school’s social network.
