As 2014 rapidly winds down, we’ve been thinking back on the last year at Papercut. We’ve been busy, and we’ve had the opportunity to redesign a lot of really cool websites, including quite a few for popular area attractions. So, to ring in the New Year, we thought we’d share just a few of the awesome projects we were proud to be a part of in 2014.
Our design for the new Rock City website uses big, bold photographs to make the natural beauty of this famous attraction stand out. Special events pages are filled with useful information and eye-catching visuals, plus customized calendars that allow visitors to see exactly when their favorite events are taking place.
This year, we also worked on the website for Ruby Falls and its sister attraction, the Ruby Falls ZIPstream. These projects both feature videos that captured the experiences offered at each attraction and incorporate them into each homepage design.
For the Incline redesign, we decided to play up the vintage feel of this historic attraction by using fun typography and bright shades of blue and orange. Whole pages are dedicated to showcasing the other attractions visitors can experience during their trip on the railway, and a bright yellow button makes it easy to purchase tickets.
The Tennessee Aquarium website features a streamlined, easy-to-understand navigation structure. Animal pages include large images and videos, plus scientific details about the animal, its behavior, and its habitat. The large, responsive calendar allows visitors to see everything happening at the Aquarium on any given day, complete with filters for specific experiences.
Our site design for Unclaimed Baggage, the famed Alabama attraction that sells lost luggage, features an embedded video on the homepage, plus specialized callout areas to draw attention to the store’s latest press, events, and unique finds. Content and visuals work together on the site to give users a full picture of what to expect when they visit the store.
Here’s to 2015!
2014 was a wonderful year at Papercut, and we’ve been fortunate to work with so many fabulous long-term (and new) clients. We look forward to continuing these relationships and forming many new ones throughout 2015.
All of us here wish you and yours a wonderful new year. We’ll see you in January!
