Papercut Cuts: Ironman Electric

You already know that we love music at Papercut, but what you might not know is that we recently set up a company Spotify account and have been busy filling it with playlists full of our favorite songs. Picking up where Win left off, we’ll be sharing our playlists in a new blog series called Papercut Cuts, and I’m first up! Of course, I’m in the midst of training for the Chattanooga Ironman, so my list is going to have an obvious workout theme.

Sometimes training for an Ironman can be… well, not too exciting. Between the 5:30am alarms, lunch-time runs and afternoon bike rides, I begin to feel just plain tired. Music has been essential to keeping my spirits up and my energy flowing during these last few weeks. If you’re training or just need something to listen to while you’re on the treadmill or the elliptical, I hope this Ironman Electric playlist gets you through your next run or gym workout. Check out the list of songs, then give it a listen below!

Track List

Skydive – To start it off, here’s a fun, fist-pumping tune that makes me wanna close my eyes and jump.

How You Love Me – “I could be the rain in your desert sky, I could be the fire in your darkest night, I could be your curse or your angel it’s all in how you love me.” Awesome lyrics set to a pumping beat. What more could you ask for?

Howl At The Moon – This has actually become my favorite on this playlist. Haunting lyrics that are intoxicating and never fail to make me forget how bad that last interval hurt.

Boneless – Oh yeah! If this one doesn’t get your feet moving, I don’t know what will.

Summer Ashes – This is my new summer anthem. Just as good as Lana Del Rey’s Summertime Sadness and with a beat that will keep you going.

Human – “Pain is an illusion, I am only human…” Keep those legs pumping, drown out the pain, and let’s set a new PR.

Standing on a Hill – This is one of my favorites. The intro never fails to put a smile on my face.

Cinema – I had to throw some Benny Banassi in this playlist. This one is a great dubstep mix. A slower piano version of this song was actually my and Dan’s first dance at our wedding. Everytime I hear it, I get chills.

Shot Me Down – This song is just fun. If you’re a big Nancy Sinatra fan, you might find it familiar.

High You Are – A fun, upbeat song to give you that next burst of energy… Ready for your next interval?

This Is Not the End – Sorry, this is not the end, we are up against the world so keep your body moving.

Lights & Thunder – Are you ready for the storm? It’s building. Do you feel it?

Push Play – Zedd is awesome, here is a great tune that will keep the tempo high.

Eyes – A beautiful electronic mix by Kaskade. This dubstep mix is one of my all-time faves.

Got 2 Know – Some great beats to break up the list. Be careful, you just might break out dancing during this one.

Antidote – Just wait, throwback to those 90’s speed skating parties.

I Can’t Stop – Just keep telling yourself this over and over….

Eastern Jam – Awesome Bollywood mix—you have my permission to shake those hips.

Sunlight – Hoping you remembered your sunglasses for this workout.

Finale – Oh yeah, it’s over! Don’t forget the 3 Rs. Rest, Recover, Repeat!
